Beginnings

This picture is what got me thinking. I was on the beach with my mates, kicking back. Reading a book. Having great conversations, refreshing swims inbetween. Kids running around building sandcastles, exploring. And it got me thinking 'How great is this!'

I wondered how many days do I have like this but don't take the time to notice. What if I started seeing the joy in every day, being grateful for every day, making a concerted effort to stay present in the moment and be aware of it.

I had recently come across a picture with a saying from Winnie the Pooh.

'What day is it?' asked Pooh

'It's today,' squeaked Piglet

'My favourite day,' said Pooh

I realised that I didn't think of every day as being my favourite day and why was that? Shouldn't every day be our favourite day?

Life is too short to busy our way through life and not taking the time to enjoy each moment and be grateful for each of those moments. Our kids grow up too quickly, our partners grow old too quickly and our busy lives take away from truly living our life as it should be lived.

So here's hoping that I learn to live in the moment, be grateful for every day and discover how wonderful my life really is!
